After nine years of waiting, the reboot of Saints Row is almost here and if you’ve been traveling to Santo Ileso next week, you might be wondering when it will actually launch.
We’ve already spent a lot of time with Volition’s Saints Row reboot, which drops Saints Row 4’s shenanigans for a more serious tone, though you can still humiliate the mobsters in Porta Potty. While we didn’t believe there was anything challenging Watch Dogs or GTA 5 in our hands-on preview, we praised its character creator, Boss Factory, calling it a powerful tool for representation.
Now, we know exactly when we’ll be able to play the full release. There’s no early access entry here with Saints Row, each platform releasing on the same day on August 23rd, but if you want to know what specific times it’ll be available, Volition told us.
saints row reboot release time
Unlike the release timing of Madden 23, Saints Row does not have a simultaneous release. As confirmed by Volition Twitter, it goes live on the midnight of August 23 in all time zones. So, while this means that if you live in Australia, you will be playing it much sooner, compared to the US, which keeps things simple.
Better still, if you pre-ordered Saints Row on the Xbox platform, Volition has confirmed that you can pre-load it now. If you opted for the PlayStation version, it’s not available yet, but fear not. Desire states that it will go live 48 hours before launch, so mark it for August 21st.
Saints Row is coming to most current-generation consoles, leaving the Nintendo Switch but coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia. While Volition confirms that pre-loading isn’t possible “due to some technical things,” it will also be available on PC via the Epic Games Store, along with last-gen versions on PS4 and Xbox One.
