A recent leak revealed some of the games that will be made available for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers later this month.
The leak comes from ResetEra user BlackBate (opens in new tab) (via Push Square) (opens in new tab)) which claims it has learned “some games” that will be added to PlayStation Plus as part of a mid-month refresh for Additional and Premium customers.
Already officially confirmed in the list (opens in new tab) Rogue; Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and FF7R Episode Intermission; Saints Row IV: Re-elected; And there are a handful of assassins, including Black Flag, Unity, Rogue Remastered, Freedom Cry, and The Ezio Collection.
According to Blackbet, these titles will be available on July 19, which, incidentally, is Stray’s release date. It’s worth noting that Blackbet says these are just “a few” games being added which suggests the lineup could be much wider than this.
As for how credible this leak is likely to be, the user has at least previously correctly leaked the information via ResetEra before the official announcements. They’re by no means a frequent poster, but as spotted by PushSquare, they’ve previously leaked details on the Death Stranding Director’s Cut. (opens in new tab) and the skull and bones reappeared (opens in new tab),
Until that’s officially confirmed by Sony, we can’t be sure of the exact lineup and date for the mid-month PlayStation Plus. The abundance of Ubisoft titles, at least, makes some sense in the context of the PlayStation Plus being part of the Ubisoft+ Classics catalog and the publisher’s promise in May that the catalog will “launch with 27 titles and grow to 50 by the end of May.” of 2022.”
What’s fresh in the middle of the month?
It’s all part of Sony’s recently completed PlayStation Plus subscription service. Now, PlayStation Plus has three tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium. While the Essentials tier is pretty much the same as the original PS Plus service, Extras and Premiums offer more, with online multiplayer access, PlayStation Store discounts, and monthly PS4 and PS5 games.
Sony has confirmed (opens in new tab) That added benefits of the Extra and Premium tiers include – among other things – a second monthly refresh of games that will occur “in the middle of the month with new games in PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe plans.” According to Sony, “the number of refreshed games will vary per month.”
Sony is yet to officially confirm the date when customers can expect this second refresh but it has been confirmed. (opens in new tab) That Stray will be released on July 19 and will be “available to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members at that time.”
The July standard lineup of PS Plus games for all PS Plus levels has already been revealed, with Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Maiden, and Arcaden now available for subscribers.
