Since its grand debut in 1959, Daytona’s premier racing facility has hosted a second Cup Series race each summer. The track itself has vertical banking with six-degree banking at 31 degrees in turns and straight banking at 18 degrees in the triangular oval portion of the racetrack. With high banking comes pack-style racing, as drivers will jockey for position inches apart from their competitors.

The four-car team has already seen how the track reacted to the Cup Series’ Next Gen car at the season-opening Daytona 500. In February, Chase Elliott and No. 9 NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 led Hendrick Motorsports with 10th place. – The place is over. Since then, the organization has won twice with the 2022 Superspeedway rules package—both with Elliot’s victory at Atlanta Motor Speedway in July and William Byrne’s victory in March. In the middle of three top-10 finishes at the April race at Talladega Superspeedway, Hendricks Motorsports led 70 laps.
