Nvidia RTX 4000 leaks stoke power-hungry hardware fears

According to the newest reports, Nvidia's new RTX 40 series is on the way, lumbering towards us like a power-hungry monster.

Users are scared that their present workstations won't be able to feed the next Nvidia GPUs, dubbed Ada Lovelace, thanks to the latest batch of leaks from the notorious Kopite7Kimi.

With suspicions circulating about the cards' forthcoming power draw ratcheting up, Kimi has responded with yet another

David Lynch-esque tweet concerning the cards' upcoming power requirements.

Kimi claims in the tweet that the various cards will require a significantly larger power source to get them up and running.

The Nvidia RTX 4090 and, in the future, the Nvidia RTX 4080 Ti are suspected – and pretty well proven – to be the AD102.

To put things in perspective, the 3090 now consumes roughly 500 watts at its highest setting.

Worries have begun to arise as a result of the additional 300 watts. Some machines can only run a 3090 with a power supply of over 1000W,

which, in the current crisis of skyrocketing electricity prices throughout the world, is causing some to break out in small beads of perspiration.
