Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 ePerformance Visits Goodwood Wearing Sustainable Michelin Rubber

At the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the fully electric Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 ePerformance drove around on a set of Michelin racing tyres made with 53 percent sustainable materials.

This rubber is better than the one that was shown at Le Mans last year, which was made of 46 percent recycled materials.

That wheel was made for the fuel-cell electric prototype made by GreenGT.

Now, 53% of the raw materials that go into the tyres that Porsche buys come from bio-based sources or are recycled.

This does not seem to hurt the performance or safety of competition tyres.

Matthieu Bonardel, the director of Michelin Motorsport, said, "Our close work with Porsche on the new fully electric 718 Cayman GT4 ePerformance race car is a clear example of

The progress Michelin has made in the fields of sustainable materials and electric mobility."
