Sonic Origins review for Switch

Sonic Origins on PS5 applies to Switch it's the same game, and the Switch version seems to perform just as well.

You can play as Tails or Knuckles in Anniversary Mode, where the upgraded versions shine and the package tries to weave all four games into one continuous plot

It looks weird (since you're witnessing other characters run through the iconic stages) and feels different if you play with Tails

Maybe it was my illusion, but he seemed to be moving slower, since Sonic's primary objective is to run as fast as possible

It modified how you play, which is an interesting way to tackle old levels.

Unless you prefer seeing classic games re- contextualized, the value proposition of Sonic Origins over SEGA Genesis Classics is less clear

If you don't care about Anniversary mode and upgraded graphics, it's merely a re-release of two classic platformers

Given Sonic's popularity throughout the years, even with a few errors

it seems like plenty of people will value seeing these games with new eyes and a different perspective

Sonic Origins is a great reason to revisit these oldies.
